I have an HP48GII - very similar to the HP50g. It's a very difficult machine to learn how to use.
But there is a good manual- HP48 insights by William Wickes.
The concept of the HP48 is so ambitious that you need a really good manual and this is it- it gives you a real chance of mastering the machine.
But if you want to do even moderately complicated scientific calculations there are other solutions- I use my HP200LX most of the time. I still hope to master the HP48GII!
