hi all I am totally stumped by the Pulse in Stage Addressing. I put a pulse in but it never seems to move the stages about? The CV works and if I patch a pulse in to start adv it works? Any ideas? Thanks Ross

Hi Ross, make sure that the cv input is fed by something changing at a different rate than the pulse input. If you happen to have a cv that is perfectly in time with the pulse timing, the 250e will sample the exact same value every pulse, and the stage will not change. Sorry for quality of this question, but you are applying a varying signal to the "cv in" jack next to the "pulse" jack, right? Also, the "strobed" light has to be lit. I could also be thinking about something completely different. Perhaps you are talking about the left hand side "start/adv" pulse input. To use that you must first set all the stages to "stop." At that point a pulse in on the "start/adv" jack should advance one step. Of course if all of the above is old news to you there is always the chance of hardware/firmware issues. I am on rev15. If you want to simply advance on pulse, use the left hand area, using the "stop" setting as I described. If you want to use the strobed mode stage select in the stage addressing area, you need both a pulse and a cv. Each pulse, the cv is read. The voltage read determines the stage. With this you can combine S&H with quantizer. Doug --- In 200e@yahoogroups.com, amnesia <amni56@...> wrote:

I am finding the Pulse Stage Addressing has never worked? I have never been able to see any stage addressing with just the pulse in? I assume my firmware is the latest as Ezra had my AFG for a month at start of the year. ross > >

Do you need to have a pulse in and cv in at the same time ? Or can I just have Pulse in only? I am talking the stage addressing Pulse in only no other pulse in or cv in. Thanks Ross dougc356 wrote:

ahhh...ok thanks I have had the AFG for a year now and really only used it a few times. Ross dougc356 wrote:
