Reissue of the 203 folding cabinet but with "e" technology

Reissue of the 203 folding cabinet but with "e" technology

2009-06-22 by davidwurth@ymail.com

What would you think about a limited run of 203s, but with "e" technology.
I think that the one with 5 rows of 6 looks really nice. I came up with the idea because
there has allready been a rerun in 2003 for 200 users and a total of seven were made.
The good thing about the 5 rows of 6 would be that you would have more space than you would have with a 201e-18 but it would still be portable. No need for to 2 cases.

If you are not familiar with the 203 (5 rows of 6)

I would love to have a 40-space 200e case (5x8), myself.

That said, there would need to be some research done if this was going
to be a case that would work with e-modules, though. The I2C bus the
interconnects the modules internally has a fairly low limit on
capacitive loading. This could probably be gotten around by having the
power distribution boards incorporate some sort of I2C extender chip,
like the NXP P82B715 or maybe have the distribution board that has the
power supply incorporate the TI PCA9518 I2C hub chip, and have the
other boats star wire back to it.

At any rate, making a large case that would work with 200e modules is
not just metal work and wood work. I think it could be done though.

pardon my lack of knowledge about this but why has there never been a
Pulse version of the SOU?

I understand Chris Muir has the Pendulum Rachet, but it is my
understanding that it wont go too random????

David

Are you going to make this or was it more a thought?

i don't think i totally understand. what would a Pulse version do? you can
easily generate random timings with a single 266 section and a single 281
section.
