For the DIYers among us,

I just happen to have a pitch-to-CV PCB in my hands that was designed by
Harry Bissell over on synth DIY. This thing is based around the pitch to CV
mods for the Etherwave. The circuit has been released by Big Briar for DIY
use, so there is not a permission issue. Harry had 50 of these PCBs made.
They are available over on TomG's EFM site. Harry uses it primarily with
guitar and Theremin. He said a guitar signal needs some "conditioning"
before it works real well with any pitch-to-CV.

Harry and I have been discussing this quite a bit lately. He and I are
meeting in person on March 24th. I plan to have the PCB up and running by
then so I can see how it works and such. And, I must see what Harry has up
his sleeve. Apparently, he now has this as a stand alone unit with this
pitch to CV with some kind of quantizer in it with selections for the
musical key you are using. He is a wild man.

Anyhow, as soon as I get this thing populated, up and running and get a
chance to see how it works I will report back on my success or lack thereof.
I have seen it work when the original circuit was built into Harry's
Etherwave, and it worked fine there.

More on this as it unfolds.

For those few times when I do use a guitar with it I have a choice of
either the Roland GR30 into the Expressionist. Or, I also have the
Synthesizers.com
(oops! naughty words) envelope follower and pre-amp modules.
