I don't understand this at all. I didn't have to do anything. I can still
access the stuff from my regular mail account. I do have the Yahoo
Messenger (which is wonderful BTW). So, I had a Yahoo ID already. When my
ISP mail server went down I hopped over to Yahoo and had e-mail set up in 5
minutes by entering my existing password. When I tried to post to the motm
list it would not let me. But, a link came up that absolutely held my had
through the process and had me posting in about 5 minutes.
My problem is now that I don't need the mail account any more I cannot
figure out how to close it.

I agree 100%. I'm not even going to bother; I'm sick of filling out web
forms already.

This is pissing me off bigtime. I ∗had∗ a Yahoo ID at some point, and I'm
not really interested in setting up another account. Worse, I am the ∗owner∗
of an egroups list, and they never even sent me an e-mail telling me how to
transition to the new system. So my mailing list is essentially held hostage
until I fill out Yahoo's bullshit form.
The deal is that Yahoo bought egroups and instead of letting the egroups
interface stand (which was brilliant because they only needed your f∗∗∗ing
e-mail address, not your freakin' pet's name) they're forcing everyone to
get one of their precious IDs.
Flaky flaky flaky.
Sorry for the grumpiness--worked the night through,
David.
