When I get a kit I sort all my resistors by laying them next to each other side by side in order. Then I take a piece a masking tape and place it over the last 1/8 inch of the leads on one side... Fold the tape over itself and Presto, I have them on a DIY reel, Inventoried, in order and ready to stuff! Best of all they stay that way if I decide to put the kit away until later (my kids are 6 and 3 and there are times when they get a little "too" interested in what Dad in doing!!!)... I got this idea from Caps that were on a cardboard strip when I did my 1st kit.

Sounds beautiful. When I start a kit I spend too much time sorting all the
resistors into a bunch of piles by value. And the coloring on some of them
is so bad it just leads to possible errors. Although if I had to pick
between resistors on reel, or pre-bent resistor leads, I'd take the pre-bent
leads if that is ever an option in the future.
