Subject: what have i done?

h3y all,
i'm playin' with the lfo and this is way beyond my scope of
comprehension.
1st, the vco is set to coarse=4, fine=3. (with this, the pitch is
set about 50 cents higher than A=440) width=5, PWM=10. pulse out to
vca. triangle out to lfo FM.
2nd, lfo settin's: rate=10, FM= +5, shape=0
sine from the lfo is plugged into the PWM on the vco.
3rd, EG sustain=7, attack, decay, release=o
last, vca gain=0, cvmod=10
by depressin' a C on the keyboard, i get an lfo cycle of what looks
like 5sec. (but i have by careful tweakin' gotten it up to 20 sec)
however, unlike a slow rate where the LED is green, then red, then
gree... etc. this has a dominant LED for about half the period with
the other faded, but still lit in the background. as it works
through what sorta looks like a normal slow cycle they switch
intensities. so the one that was dim is bright and vice versa.
on to the sound, as i travel chromatically up the keyboard from C,
the lfo cycles get faster until G#, from A up they start to slow
down. at an octave above C, the cycle is about 1 sec. this pattern
repeats for a couple of octaves(in increasin'ly faster increments)
until the lfo cycle is continuously full blast across the rest of the
range up.
i have uploaded this to the files section if you want to hear it.
all i can think is that the frequencies are "harmonically aligned"
(for lack of a better term) with the lfo modulation rate(via the tri
in from the vco) and therfore in sync(-ish). as i move away from the
frequency(C note in my case)that i dialed in, it starts to do what????
i am utterly baffled, and not sure i am even on the right track to
the solution. any help would be appreciated. i would love to know
what i have done...
peace,
doc
