It's very, very, very useful. Once you use it a couple of times for simple
switching tasks, your mind will grow into all the possibilities.

I used it in one track to "bring in" a bass tone sequence; I started with
the threshold low and only one note resulted. Slowly I turned up the
threshold according to different points in the composition until, one by
one, each note (starting from the lowest in pitch) was added to the
sequence.

I've also used it to switch between two different CV offsets--I used the
outputs of two 800s (sustain set to my offset) into two inputs and switched
between them to an output, either manually or via a LFO. I actually did this
once sending those offsets to the CV input of my FR777 to control the pitch
of one of its oscillators.
