hmmm... well. the first night i finished assembling my first 420, i hooked
it up to an EG and my sh101 and got FAR too little sleep that night... i
completed my second one last week some time, and have had a wonderful time
trying not to blow my speakers. :)
so yeah, i really enjoy the sound of the 420, esp. at mid to high
resonance... let it be known, though, that i'm a highpass junkie, and
that's something the 420 does quite well. it's a smooth, rich highpass
sound that's lots of fun to patch cv into, esp. the -5 to +5 cv input...
you can smoothly turn your envelopes (or whatever cv signal you have)
upside down by twiddling a knob. mmm. juicy.
another benefit... if you have another filter (or if your patch requires
no filter), you can use the 420 as a three in one out mixer... of course,
who can resist the call of the freq knob? so it won't be a mixer for long.
so yeah, that's my 0.02
bleep.
out.
