thanks larry & ivan,

tonight i A/B/C'd mine again with a Monster cable (with gold connectors)
and a spectraflex of similar length and there is a serious difference. the
monster was very clear and musical and the 'average' of the three, the
spectraflex was high-endy and lacking in lows as well, and mine (the
canare/neutrik) was the 'warmest' (read: slight drop off in the highs),
defnitely less high-end presence. it blows my mind.....though i know that
similar phenomena happens with speaker cable...

equipment: Bogner guitar amp, Fender strat, living room
