I should point out that, after building around 17 kits in a couple of
years, this is the first time I remember Paul making a mistake. That's a
pretty good track record!
>I messed up! I revised the MOTM-820 parts list at the last minute, the
>packed up the resistors
>with the ∗old∗ BOM (BOM = Bill Of Materials). Grumble.
>
>OK, these issues will be CORRECTED from today forward. If you get a
>MOTM-820
>with the problems, and need resistors, they will be provided.
>
>a) The instruction to insert the 100 ohm resistor R4 is left out of the
>manual. The parts list AND
>schematic are correct.
>
>b) The modification is as follows: resistor R3 IS TO BE 10K. I got this
>wrong twice on the same
>page (took years of training to do this!). So:
>
>On page 6, change the (5pcs) of 10K to (6pcs). ADD the instruction to insert
>a 10K into R3.
>Now, YOU WILL BE A 10K RESISTOR SHORT! If you DON't have one, I will send
>some.
>12K OR 15K WILL ALSO WORK JUST FINE.
>
>c) Next instruction: there are 4pcs of 15K. You get 4pcs. Just DELETE the
>instruction for R3.
>R3 is a 10K!
>
>d) For the 2K7 resistor: you only need 3. You got 4. Use extra as cat toy.
>The instructions say
>(4pcs). Cross this out and write a 3. Be neat, and spelling is graded. The
>parts list, schematic,
>and instructions are correct. The technical term is a "typo".
>
>Well, THAT was a mess! Thanks to Dave Trenkel for keeping me honest.
>
>Kits shipped after today will have the CORRECT documentation with the
>CORRECT parts.
