As many of you already know, MOTM style panels are being produced for some
popular modules by other manufacturers and for some D.I.Y. stuff. Everyone
please express thanks to Dave Bradley (also known as Moe Stooge) for his
hard work and persistence to make this happen. My role in this endeavor is
to collect orders and money to assist Dave so he does not have to do all the
work. But, Dave is the guy behind the deal. He is the greatest of all
stooges. He deserves all the credit.
Here's the deal:
These panels will be made from regular MOTM blank panels purchased from
Paul. So, Paul makes some cash and you get official MOTM metal and paint.
Dave's very thoughtful panel designs will be screened onto the blank MOTM
panels and made available to anyone who wants them. Neither Dave nor I
have any agenda and neither will make a penny from this. We are both very
fond of Paul's MOTM format and want our "other" modular gear to feel at home
by sharing the same MOTM format. So, we are making these available as a
service to other MOTMers.
Here is what is available:
- Blacet Dark Star
- Blacet Time Machine
- Oakley 3 x 1 mixer (a 1U minimal implementation)
- DIY 831 3-IN, 3-OUT voltage shifter (my protoboard design)
- DIY 822 2-IN, 2-OUT voltage shifter (my protoboard design)
- Expressionist break out panel (Dave Bradley's brainchild)
- Wiard MiniWave (yes, I 've heard it is no longer available. However, some
of you own the ones that were sold AND John Blacet has hinted he will try to
license the design from Grant). John??.... Grant??..... I will buy one!
hint, hint. Please..... :)
These panel screens are available for viewing at:

http://www.modglin.com/larryPlease note that some of these panels do not have the cross hair drilling
guides. The 822, 831, Time Machine and MiniWave DO. The Dark Star, Oakley
Mixer, and Expressionist do NOT. Also note that these panels DO NOT have
holes. You have to drill them (they do have the 4 corner holes). I have
agreed to drill some holes for a couple of you. So, don't freak. But, I do
NOT want to get in that business unless you are truely needy or totally
mechanically declined.
If you want any of these panels, I need to hear from you privately NOW. We
plan to order and print all the panels at one time, saving YOU money and
Dave many trips to the printer. These may be available later, but the price
will be MUCH higher if you do do benefit from the savings of ordering
several at once. I am planning to take panel requests for 7 days. If you
have already told me that you want 822 or 831 panels, I do not need to hear
from you again. I have saved all of your requests.
At the end of this week, I will send out a confirmation note and a request
for your payment. I need your money before we have the printing done.
Sorry to ask for the money up front. But, we are only printing the exact
number of panels requested. So, neither Dave or I am interested in getting
stuck with any leftovers.
If you have questions about panel layouts or features, e-mail me about the
831, 822. Ask Dave about the others. I can answer Oakley mixer panel
questions too.
How much does all this cost, you ask ?? A lot of thought went into how
best to recover the cost of this project so that each person paid as close
to possible to their "weighted" share. All I can say is, you have to trust
that we are being fair and if it seems to high, no one is twisting your arm.
Remember that you are getting REAL MOTM blanks. So, Paul is making some
cash for more MOTM R&D. That should be incentive enough.
Here are the PER PANEL prices. These include the blank panel, and the
screen printing. Shipping is separate (see below):
Dark Star ------ $ 22
Expressionist --- $ 22
Oakley Mix ----- $ 15
822 V-shift ----- $ 16
831 V-shift ----- $ 16
Mini Wave ----- $ 23
Time Machine -- $ 23
Note that blank prices are $11 and $18 plus shipping (1U and 2U
respectively).
USA shipping will be $4 per order, NOT per panel. You UK guys will get a
private note concerning shipping cost when I send your confirmation.
The panels I have agreed to drill (you know who you are) need to pay and
extra $4 per order, NOT per panel since you will be paying for one extra leg
of shipping.
Send no money now. Just send me your panel request PRIVATELY. In 7 days, I
will send you a confirmation with your total due. Depending on the number
ordered and my final shipping price from Paul the price could fluxuate a
little (up or down). And again, if you have already told me you want 831
and 822 panels, you need not reply unless you want to ADD other panels.
Will other panels be available in the future? Maybe, depending on interest.
When you send me your panel request, feel free to list any panels you would
like to see in the future. Those of most notable response will probably be
next (if this all goes well and Moe Stooge is willing).
NOW, e-mail me and tell me what you want.
Thanks,
Stooge # 2 Larry
