| topic list |
I know this is a bit off topic, but I'm asking here anyway because I don't subscribe to any of the other DIY lists, and frankly you are all nice enough not to flame me mercilessly. :-)
I have 2 of Gene Stopp's ASM-1 boards, both fully populated with the recommended parts but NOT mounted in a case, and only partially tested that I want to give a good home. I know the VCOs on both of them work, since they can be tested without external circuitry. The soldering job is reasonably decent, and the only possibly incorrect parts are the caps on the filter sections. (They're the right values, but possibly not the right materials.)
Really, all they need is a nice front panel and a whole lot of knobs, jacks, and wiring. Oh yeah, and I used two 2N3904's instead of the MAT-02, and I used TL082's throughout. I did use a metal can JFET for the VCO's, but I can't recall the number off hand.
For information on what an ASM-1 module is, check

I'd like to get back what I put into the parts (which I'd have to estimate after the intervening years), but I frankly don't have the first idea how to go about selling these.
I don't really ∗need∗ to sell them right now, but I recently came to the conclusion that I was never going to finish them (MOTM modules are much easier, and I'm very bad at front panel construction). So I thought it would be a shame for these not to find their way into someone's hands who will know what to do with them.
If anyone is interested, or knows anyone who might be interested, I'll be able to provide JPG pictures of the boards after this weekend so you can inspect the workmanship and such. I can do pretty high res photos if need be, so just let me know. I also have a fairly large collection of banana jacks and open back pots that aren't doing anyone any good either, which I can throw in really cheap. :-)
Thanks,
Dan Higdon (hdan@...)
