Steve,
You can find more discussion of cabinets in the archives. I have a Moog-style
"upper" cabinet that can fit 27U of modules. The outside dimensions are the same as
a Moog cabinet. It is stained and waiting for me to mount the power supply, barrier
strip, power distribution panels, and of course, the flat rails. I need to get 5
rails and do some work with a bandsaw to put all the rails in. I hope to send some
pics to the list as I finish things up.
In answer to your question, both Serge and Buchla used the same 16" boxes that can
be rack mounted, if desired. Well, Serge seemed to always use them whereas Buchla
varied a bit more. Many systems used the 16" boxes mounted in custom wood cabinets.
Go to www.synthfool.com or www.synthmuseum.com for some pics, if you want.
