Subject: Sampler not Whitman's

My module thought du jour:
I want a sampler module. Here's my feature set as I so far see it.

1. Low fi. Maybe slightly better than a Casio SK synth. I say this
because it adds coloration to the sampled sound, which I consider a good
thing. & it keeps cost down. & it allows room for
2. A goodly number of samples. I'm thinking at least eight, preferably of
a decent length, organized into two banks. Why two banks?
Well then you could have a setup for a way to
3. Morph between samples on the two banks a la the various vector synths--a
simpler implementation perhaps but same basic gist. Of course you could do
the same thing from a separate module if you had indie outs for the two
banks.
4. It would be interesting to have a time stretch /compress type feature
with maybe four settings: 0 (off), 1 (sample plays at same length
throughout), & a couple of in between settings for jollies.
5. The usual stuff: input attenuator, sample loop, v/oct in, gate in,
some nice LED's.

I have to admit I know very little about the workings of samplers, so I have
no idea how doable any of this is. & now I will make my way back to the
land of the Luddites(new from sid & marty kroft!!!)
