Subject: VISIO for patch templates/misc

From: "Paul Schreiber" <synth1@...>
Date: 2000-09-06

Just ordered Micro$oft VISIO 2000 Technical Edition. Ken T. and I will work
on making
nice MOTM panels for use in patch storage. Supposedly, smart C++ programmers
can write
an interface like the Nord modular: you can program "droopy patch cords"
interconnecting
the "modules". VISO standard is all you need, and ∗supposedly∗ will be in
Y2001 MS Office
Professional (whoopeee). But I can export in many other formats.

I was going to use Adobe Illustrator 8, but that was a whip. (whip = slang
for "piece of crap").

Got DSL installed today. Pretty impressive! About 6X faster than dial-up.
Doesn't tie up
the phone line (I have 8 ∗pairs∗ of wires in my house wiring!)

Things have been very slow in the MOTM world over last 4 weeks. But,
shipping out over ∗30∗
kits tomorrow, and another 40 next week. Hard to get excited when it's 113F
outside and 84F
inside with A/C full blast (Carnot cycles, anyone??!?). Still ordering parts
for the fall line-up.

gonna frag some kiddies tonite!
