hello all

a not off topic hypothetical at all request:

if some poor sap ran Outlook Express (win 98), but being from the UK,
collected his email online, then read it all offline (we, sorry, they have
to pay for local calls)
and say if some e-group he had joined, had decided to advertise on all the
e-group communications (just recent like)
how could, erm, my friend stop his computer trying to download all the gifs
etc EVERY time he tried to read his e-group mail

any thoughts gang..?
