My suggestion would be to bypass the '120 for now and add an '800 EG and a
VCF--probably the most versatile is the '440 which is an MS-20 filter with
lots more flexibility.

Also, make sure you have some way to control everything. MIDI keyboard and
MIDI to CV convertor, analog keyboard or an analog sequencer. There are
other possiblities too. Paul usually recommends the Kenton MIDI-CV
convertors; most of the people on the list tend to have or favor the Encore
Expressionist.

I didn't catch whether you already have equipment or not. So make sure you
have some way to hear the beautiful sounds (even if your wife or girlfriend
or other doesn't agree with that assessment, we do) you are making. Usually
a mixer, amp and speaker combo although there are simpler ways to go.

The MOTM is designed to fit exceptionally well in an SKB pop-up mixer case.
Several of us on the list have these and they work very well especially if
you like to drag your equipment around.

Also make sure you have lots of 1/4" patch cables. Unfortunately Paul does
not sell these at this time. Wacky Kovacky (sp?) cables seem to be popular
here among others.

You didn't say whether your are getting kits or assembled units. If you are
going the kit route and don't have tools already, it is well worth following
Paul's suggestions for what tools to buy.

You will also need mounting rails which I am sure Paul won't let you forget.

This may seem like a lot, but remember most of these are one-time purchases.

If you are a seasoned electronic musician and DIYer, pass over these
comments and pass them on to all of the newbies who have just seen the
MOTM/EM light!

Amen!

P.S. I am not the real Slim Shadey...
