OK, I think most of us realize a the MOTM-700 can be used for LOTs of fun
switching things. Let's say you want to switch tuning on one of your
oscillators from unison to say a natural 5th quickly right in the middle of
a performance and don't want to rouble yourself with the re-tuning. Hoook a
voltage source to one input and leave the other open. Hook the output to
one of the FM inputs of your VCO. With the voltage source switched on, tune
your interval, then switch it in and out at will with your 700 knob or via
voltage control. Heck, use both swithes in the 700 for two intervals (with
adjustable voltage sources).
Automate punch in and out. Lets say you have two takes of that special lead
or vocal track on tape or whatever and you have no tracks left to bounce to.
Or, heaven forbid you are still using analog tape. You certainly don't want
another generation of tape in there. You want to use some of one, and some
of the other in the final mix, but the switching back and forth between must
be exact. Your mixer is not latest and greatest. When you go to your final
mix, run both audio sources to the 700 and the output to your mix down. Now
switching is easy. In fact, if you are synced to MIDI in this mess,
automate your switching in the MIDI, use your MIDI to CV to control the
switching of the 700.
I know this is simple stuff. But, I am trying to seed the donation jar on
the piano or open guitar case, depending on your tool of choice.
