Well, first thing is that these designs just don't "appear from nowhere"! JH
and I have
been discussing stuff like this for over 1 year. I appears "from nowhere" to
you, but in many
cases the 'behind the scenes' work is 6 months old. JH doesn't just "whip
up" a breadboard
in a few days: there are ∗weeks∗ of SPICE simulation first. I don't "whip
up" panel and PCB
artwork, either. A good case in point is the VC Phaser. This will probably
be a 2-board set,
plugged piggy-back style. So, this is an extened pcb layout issue.

The vocoder, as stated several times in the past is NOT A MOTM PRODUCT. It
is a Synthesis Technology
product. It is designed for high-end recording studios. It is designed to
create 'industry buzz'. It is designed
so the wife can finish remodelling. It will be 14 months on development. It
does NOT 'take away' from MOTM.
I already have the next ∗seven∗ modules pretty much designed and planned
out. There is bench work
involved, but little JH work. The burden is on me.

I see no reason to rush stuff out for the sake of puffing up the catalog.

Lastly, most people think ∗all∗ modules are critical. I have to think in
terms of ∗getting new customers∗
as well as appeasing current ones. The pre-amp/envelope follower is
∗specifically designed∗ for targeting
guitar players. Sure, other people want them, too. BUT....I ∗must offer∗
these in order to attract this
market segment.

I would ∗much rather∗ be considered expensive and slow with #1 quality and
sound that have a full-line
of so-so modules. 2 other companies already fill ∗that∗ market segment. No
thanks!
