You don't give the date Ms. Carlos recorded this.. As memory serves CraigAnderton published the plans for this exact same style controller in electronotesback in 72 or 73?  He even manufactured and sold same for severalyears by his company "Royal Union Electronics"?  Anyone with setsof old electronotes should be able to dig the plans ecet out..I don't rememberwhat he called his units..I do think they did have built in vco's I do know they had at least a couple push buttons for gate/triggering..

Check out Wendy Carlos' Circon, as used on the "Tales from Heaven& Hell"
album. It's basically a big potentiometer with an arrow attachedto it with
a semi-circular keyboard graphic for positioning. It was her 'Theremin
without the guesswork' solution for eerie glissandi.

Today, I found an Electronic Musician from feb 1987 that has anarticle on
how to transform a slide potentiometer into a ribbom controller.
Really simple. The hardest part would be figuring out what materialshould
cover it (eg: vinyl). Anyone seen this before or tried it?
