Steve,
The module you are requesting is a fixed filter bank (FFB). Other modulars have
them and they are quite useful at shaping sounds. They are also like Low Pass
filters in that each design tends to sound different so there are lots of
possibilities! You can use a 410 for some of these effects but it isn't as handy as
a true fixed filter bank.
I know FFBs have been brought up before on the list but something that might be
interesting is to understand a few of the characteristics of the different FFBs that
have been made to see what makes them sound unique. The Moog FFB has a bunch of
inductors and sounds very unique. The EMS FFB is just a bunch of 741 op amp filter
circuits, I think and also has a unique and sought after sound. I wonder if JH has
some wisdom and experience in this area to share...?
