Paul,
Hello. Well, I finally got a hold of the MTM yesterday. It only
took me 8 months to pry it away from my friend. No wonder it was not
working for him. He was powering it from a supply putting out +/-30V
when the unit only wants to see +/-20V! As it does not seem to have any
internal voltage regulators, I was pretty certain it was fried, but
after powering it properly from my bench supply it appears to work OK. I
will now replace all of the electrolytics. The unit has 2 potted modules
about the size of cigarette packs that contain the delay circuits. No
getting inside these. All the other components visable are Logic and
Audio type Opamps, capacitors resistors and some inductors. There are no
hook-up wires per se but a custom legended ribbon type cable that
stretches from the PCB across the entire front panel to connect all of
the pots. This thing was not made to be taken apart very easily. There
are a ton of trimmers inside as well. I plan to build a custom +/-20V
supply for it soon. Once this is done it will be available to you to
check out if you wish. Now I must prepare for today's MOTM NYC/NE UG! I
look forward to meeting everyone and checking out the Lag Processor!
Charles.
