When you get around to looking at resonant formant filter banks, I'd like to
suggest the MAM RS3 as a starting point.
For those folks who haven't already heard of it, look at this review on
midiwall:

the RealAudio demos you'll agree. Basically 3 resonant bandpass filters in
parallel, with individual tune and common CV inputs, 2 internal LFOs that
can be routed to filters with either polarity, outputs pannable across the
stereo field, and unique envelope follower that works low, mid, and high
sections independently.
