The meter panel is simply a on/off switch for my "case" style power supply.
Being the anal-rententive electrical guy that I am, I had to put meters on
the power supply 15 VDC outputs (one negative and one positive). They
serve no purpose other than to say "I'm on and working" and of course "I am
cool." These meters are actually back lit with NE-2H neon lights (2 each)
and really look great without flash photography. In the dark, they are
awesome looking.
I have one other meter panel planned with another MOTM blank. Just in time
for MOAS, I plan to put a 15 VDC meter on the 5 volt PS output too.
Another 15 VDC meter on that panel MIGHT be used to with a jack and
inverting switch to monitor CVs at any location in the MOTM control path.
I am only planning this panel cause I had the two 15 VDC meters left over
from the project you see. I used 15 VDC meters first, then changed them to
30 VDC so they would only run 50% normally. Us high-voltage power guys
hate to see meters pegged (got a few stories there).
The "custom patch panel" was just a temporary multiple I created to help
the interfacing to the PAiA I had to take to AH99 since I had no MOTM VCOs
or VCFs. If you could see it better, you would realize it is the back side
of a MOTM-700. I had to replace my MOTM 700 faceplate due to actually
twisting the stud out of the back of my original face.
