Thanks. I live in New England (Connecticut, anyway) and am not familiar with
Woodwoorker's Warehouse, but I'll hunt around for a place like taht which
could help.

In most areas there tend to be "hardwood specialists." Go to your local
fine
cabinet or furniture maker and ask who in town sells specialty hardwoods.
Another good source of info is your local woodworking supply shop (in New
England they've got a chain of places called "Woodworkers Warehouse").
I've
lived in a few small towns and in every one I have found places that have
your typical hardwoods (walnut) along with specialty woods (koa, bubinga,
zebrawood, etc.). You can also ask luthiers where to get specialty woods.
