Subject: more fun with MOTM

Hey all,

The mad scientist has been playing with his black boxes again...

These mp3 format audio files are available at the first URL at the end of
this message.

Black and Blue
Begins with MOTM-100 and lag processor modulating MOTM-300; the TR-909 kick
is through MOTM-420, high-pass, resonance at 7, compressed with ART Levelar
(great, cheap tube compressor). Really fattens up the kick, eh? TR-909 claps
through MOTM-120 for nasty distortion, then compressed with another ART
Levelar (I need something like 8 of these). Bass synthesizer is 777.
Wonderful filter modulation on that thing. TR-909 hats through a second
MOTM-420, high-pass, high resonance. The lead synth that sounds gated
(square-wave LFO modulating filter, actually) is Moog Source, a synth that
has been terribly neglected since my MOTM obsession began. Welcome back,
Source! The completely unreasonable compression is courtesy FMR Audio RNC
(compressor).

Noise Strategem 5f
It starts with the wet signal from a digital delay (pretty distinctive
sound). I used two MOTM-420s in series, low-pass mode, to filter the 777
near the beginning. After that, they just sit relatively open. The 777 is
going through a MOTM-120; you can hear me dial in the suboctaves at one
point. The percussion is TR-909: kick, rimshot and low tom.

David.
