Sure, just a matter of the clocking rate and feedback profile.
The venerable, and still one of my favorite programmable-preset
machines, the Korg Polysix, has 30% of the electronics inside dedicated to
the analog effects board, which (surprise) uses three MN3007 analog delay
registers to provide chorus, phaser (sounds more like a mild flanger) and
the best effect, the "ensemble" mode where the three delay lines are run
at different rates and mixed together for an immaculate pad enhancement
effect. (The Trident machines also have MN300x effects, though one is a
dedicated flanger and the other a dedicated ensemble effector for the
string section).
I should really carry out my plan to cram one behind an MOTM-like panel
and feed signals and CVs at it. The depth/speed is voltage-controlled
already. If only I didn't have this other mountain of stuff to do
first...
