I would avoid "open-frame" racks. Get a kind with 2 sides+top+bottom. Then
have Home Depot
cut you a piece of Masonite to fit over the back, with a 2" opening at the
top and bottom. Use cheap
wood screws to fasten in the corners.

If left out in the open, eventually they will get gunky. The main thing that
gets noisy are the jacks
as they are not sealed, per se. After 4-5 years you can rinse the whole
module under running water.
