Thanks for bringing this up Paul, I was just about to start inquiring about this.
Yes, 12U is fine. My cabinet is 27U but I'll figure out how to get the extra 3U.
I'm sure I'm in the minority in this respect. Please sell them individually, rather
than in pairs, I think I'm going to need 5 and a friend with a band saw ;)
