John,

Simple question; are you a keyboard player or a "synthesist"? If you are a keyboard
player, you will miss the ability to play chords. If you don't really play
keyboards (it sounds like you don't by the use of the D-Beams as MIDI controllers),
you might be ready for some fun! However, be prepared to "think laterally" and push
yourself to be creative with what will, at times, seem like a very limited set of
tools.
