Paul,
I tried to find "Secrets of Synthesis" to no avail. In my wanderings I found
this site:
http://www.wendycarlos.com//index.html

On her page I found this info about the CD:

The final Carlos contract album with CBS/Sony, released in late
1986, including on CD. Unavailable since the masters were reclaimed
by Carlos in late 1996, although any remaining stock was permitted
to be sold out.

There is much info about all of her other albums both in and out of print.
Very interesting.
