Hi everyone--
I've stuffed up a sorta mediocre looking picture of my first attempt at
a MOTM form factor panel. It's a quad attenuator with 2 four way
multiples. The attenuator is normalized, so that if you plug something
in to input 1, the pots for 2, 3 and 4 also get the signal; plugging
something into input 2, for example, breaks the chain...
I put the pots on the right (since 2U wide MOTM modules seem to favor
the right side first), with the attenuator inputs and outputs on the
left. At first I was going to run the pots down the middle with the
inputs on the left and the outputs on the right for a more intuitive
look, but it occurred to me that if I were to want to turn one of those
knobs, there would most likely be cables plugged in to its respective
'in' and the 'out', so I went for access over 'intuitivity'.
It's a regular aluminum panel, 2U x 5U, actually from a 2U wide 19"
panel which I sawed down to produce 2 panels each 2U x 5U. Sprayed two
coats of black (semi gloss) with those pesky white chartpak type rub-on
letters, and followed by a coat of clear matte lacquer. I'm not sure the
lacquer 'likes' the black paint, because the whole thing got very
slightly crinkled but that look is actually a bit closer to the MOTM
finish than a flat featureless surface...
In the photo, it sorta looks like the labels were added on by a
three-year-old, and all I can say in my defense, is that the whole mess
looks a bit better in person!

For my next act, I'm planning an overlay in closer-to-MOTM style (and
featuring the radial tick marks and 1-10 legends) for a 1U wide panel to
hold my trusty PAiA 'Roctave Divider'! No, really!
