CHAD CONGER'S instant profile :
I live in Seattle, Washington, in a rather cheap apartment, and lead a
somewhat boring existence so I shall not dwell on it. But to throw my 2
cents into the wind while it is yet in fashion...
I do love my MOTM. Building these kits has been my first experience in
soldering. So far, so good. Only minor mishaps, (dropping the iron on the
carpet!, soldering one IC backwards). I have 2 X '300s, '410, 2 X '420s, 2
X '800s, '110, '120, '940, and two '900s.. I started out wanting to build
two systems, one BIG MOTM w/ VCO's, and another small one to fit in my rack
to complement other effects processors, but now I am really thinking I just
want one big system.
My favorite module so far is the '410 filter, and I know I'm not alone. I
built the '420 first and adore it, mainly for having three CV inputs - that
is really handy for fine tuning relative amounts of incoming CV signals.
But the '410 just adds ∗so much∗ life to the sound.. Wow! Great job, Paul.
I am currently exploring configurations on the Pro2000. I am using it's
internal LFO's for PWM, and they seem to do quite well. Of course, I would
eventually like to get some o' those ∗real∗ LFO's, but alas.. One cannot
always have a cake and eat it all at once.. er something.
I have enjoyed reading other's profiles, and think it is a great idea,
whoever first thought of it.
I love to compose, but I suck terribly at it. But it is what I love, and on
some fundamental level, if I don't give it my best shot, I feel that I'd be
wasting my life. My music is sort of "New Age," but I hate that phrase,
whatever it means. So it is what it is. I have recorded some tracks on CD
about four years ago, but now I think that all sucks. That part of my life
is over. So, I am starting off fresh, and plan to use my slowly morphing
MOTM system quite a bit in the pieces I record.
Well, another day. I'm off to seize the coffee.
