The '110 Ring mod is designed to be driven by 10v pk-pk signals. The "line
level"
1 to 1.5v pk-pk levels out of a synth won't get you that 'pristine' ringing
sound.
Until the Triple Preamp arrives, try using the ∗headphone∗ out of a synth:
those run
unloaded about 6V pk-pk with the volume cranked.
As a "modulator", use a '320 LFO! I guarentee wanking on the SHAPE knob will
add bizzareness the Blacet can only dream of.
As a VCA, the CEM3330 is "quite good", but I think it's the ∗best-sounding∗
Ring Mod out
there. I will be sad when the supply eventually dries out. Still have ~200
left!
Looking into alternative VCA gain cells now.
