Subject: RE: EG-mania

I'm confused, too, and I own both an MS-20 & MS-50. So I'll use it as an
excuse to say I really like the fact that each of the four EG's on those
machines as some sort of nice extra feature (as if we haven't talked about
enough potential EG features already!).

MS-20:
EG1 DAR with +/- outputs
EG2 HADSR with +/- outputs

MS-50:
EG1 ADSR with dual +/single - outputs
EG2 HDAR with +/- outputs and delayed (by D) gate output

I've found that I don't use the Hold feature very much, but the initial
Delay (both envelope, as on the MS-20 EG2, or gate, as on the MS-50 EG2) is
a very useful feature.

Also, I now see that it would make sense for an EG to have both an
end-of-envelope output AND a cycle switch so that a mixer isn't required
(although I would think a cheap 1/4" splitter adaptor would work for this
application) for initial triggering or a retriggerable LFO.
