Subject: Re: [motm] Question about building/selling MOTM modules

If you're building MOTM modules, buyers would expect the MOTM standard pots, though I don't doubt that popular modules would sell with Alphas.  You would probably have to discount them and be very specific when selling them.

If you're building MOTM ∗format∗ modules like those at Bridechamber, then the buyer would likely expect that Alphas were used.

cheers,

The market for MOTM modules is too small to generate a meaningful
answer to this question.

Build your modules as best you can. Replacing a pot or four is not
too hard to do down the road. Replacing 100 pots in a large modular
is. Whether or not to spend an extra $60 in parts in exchange for a
∗brick and rebar∗ shithouse is a judgement call everyone will make
differently.

IMO modulars should be designed for a 100 year duty cycle. I also buy
used modules assembled by amateurs (like myself) that have unsealed
pots. Such is war.
