OK, I gave my demo more of a proper mix and hereby toss it into the ring ...
http://www.jneil.com/motm/Industrial_Swamp_mix.mp3There's a bit of "everything into everything else" patching going on, but the basic flow is:
The MOTM-730 VC Pulse Divider is being driven off of the trigger out of a TR909, which along with the accompanying squishy drum treatment you hear at the beginning is the only non-MOTM thing in the mix.
Various divisor outs on the '730 are hitting a MOTM-700 Dual 2:1 Router and a pair of MOTM-820 Lags, switching between 4 detuned MOTM-300 VCOs which are cross-modulating one another and also being modulated directly by the '730.
The resulting semi-random discords then hit a MOTM-440 filter (and occasionally a MOTM-120 Sub-Octave Mux or a MOTM-490 Moog VCF as
well), which are also getting sent '730 triggers. The output is routed through an Oakley EG/VCA, which is being triggered by yet another divisor off the '730, and a MOTM-890 uMixer is just setting a final level to the recording gear.
No adjustments were made during recording - after hitting Play on the 909 this is what came out.
The mix just involved setting better relative levels between the drums/filter treatment/MOTM tracks, all of which were tidied up at the beginning and end but otherwise left exactly as recorded, barring touches of EQ, compression, or 'verb.
Enjoy!
