that is a good suggestion. if i were having panels fabricated by CNC routing or sharks with freakin' lasers on their heads then i would be doing that as well.
Also the width of the panel is SUPER important...the smaller you make it the more people will look at it.
despite the obvious and strong desire to follow the pack on this, it's more important that his design can also be flown into frac than to be as small as possible. my own euro modules use the same PCB as the other formats, which cuts down on inventory requirements and dev time for a new module in a new format.
if he were using a core card and a parallel front panel card that would free the design up. however, those Cliff jacks require perpendicular cards.
in fact that's the only question i'd be asking: why still use the Cliff jacks?
