I understand what you mean. I've found myself in a sort of 'single layer' 2d
thinking about patching the modular lately.
What are the 'same sorts of sounds' youve been patching up that you want to get
out of? Do you usually play your modular with a keyboard or no?
Sometimes I find it useful to block out a module or two that I always use and
force myself to start playing with others in different ways. I also seem to
still get a LOT of mileage out of the typical FM modulation index patch.
