An isolation transformer offers isolation from the AC line. A UPS or
battery backup provides power for a short time after the power goes
go out. They are two completely different things, neither of which
you need for MOTM.
I use Tripplite Isobars for general use. I have them all over the
house. They provide filtering and surge protection. I also have two
Tripplite two LC-2400 20A line conditioners for studio use.
I have a UPS, but I don't use it since the computer I use at home is
a laptop. It has a battery of its own, so it still works if the
power goes out, allowing me to save whatever I'm doing.
