And if any of you don't like it for this or any other reason, just sell it to me!

Subject: [motm] MOTM-510 switch reminder
Since a lot of MOTM-510s are going out, it's time for the "No, the rotary switch
is NOT BROKEN" email.
a) It's in the manual, there is 1/2 of a page devoted to the issue.
b) the issue is: we are connecting/disconnecting pins of the AD538 while the
part is ∗under power∗. Therefore, the part 'glitches' the outputs which you hear
as static/pops.
c) also, simply applying ∗pressure∗ to the knob without fully turning it causes
the switch contacts to "bounce" (scrape, actually), which again causes the
outputs to pop
d) it's not a bug, it's a feature
If this is annoying, turn down the audio to the speakers, flip the switch, turn
back up.
But please: no more emails about 'I need a replacement switch'.
