many thanks for the replies chaps
the A112 does indeed have an onboard 7805 - but don't worry, i've no intention of overpowering it

i was erring against building a eurorack simply because i didn't want to end up with yet another cabinet (my system currently exists in 7 cases and two cardboard boxes)

however with the stooge panel tradition secured, i may wait until next year and rack it up MOTM format
until then i have biscuit tins to chop up, or cut a big hole in an old DIY panel and mount it as is
then again, i do have most of the parts to knock together a eurorack, so maybe...

Julian - if you have some A112 tips i'd love to hear them - so far i'm still on the classic (imho) Severed Heads sound...

cheers
paul

Id advise against this.

The a112, being a digital module, probably works on +5v.  Id imagine its
regulated down from +12v anyway, and the extra voltage at +15v may be enough
to overstreatch the regulator / heat dissipation, etc.  Failure may not even
be that quick.

Julian (who has an a112 in his rack, but cant look at the pcb without a
screwdriver...)

I can't imagine there's anything in this module that would be too
demanding of exact power supply voltage, Paul. Set it up with a
-12/+12 supply to watch proper behavior, then give it -15/+15 and see
what happens. It surely won't blow up. Most designs will work with
either voltage with little if any modification.
