AHHHHHAAA! yes, that seems to be the problema! So
that basically means that I heated up the coax cable
so hot it just melted the sleeve of the inner wire
exposing it to the braid/ground right? I really need
to get a different tip for my iron, the one that came
with my WTCPT is a little tough to get into some of
the spots, and RReally tough trying to leave any room
on some the pads on the board for the solder to flow
onto. So, thank God I didn't fry one of the chips or
caps! All in all I think I did a fairly decent job,
aside from toasting the coaxial leads, for a first
try! Well, kind of, I put together a PAIA theremax a
while back and OMG what a difference! the MOTM circuit
boards are really Really nice, although it took a few
solders to get used to dealing with those microscopic
pads!(compared to the PAIA boards) Anyhow, if I have
time tomorrow I'll try and track down some replacement
cable and one of those fine point screwdriver tips!
Thank you SOO much for interupting a fine Friday
evening to toss out that little tid bit of info!
Thanks,
Ti_
