I use the FR777 as a CV/gate source for MOTM. It can do an almost perfect
303 impersonation, but it's so much more than that--2 oscillators, FM
between both, weird CV warping, 3-pole or 7-pole LPF, HPF, etc. Limited
envelopes. Very wide pallette of sounds. And MIDI is note on/off, slides and
accents--no recording of knob movements (the way it oughtta be, dammit).
BUT-it's an easily programmable sequencer (much more so than the 303), and
it's capable of a lot of neat tricks when used with other synths, especially
the MOTM!
