Ben,
I've worked as software developer for twelve years now. I got into MOTM
synthesizers in 2002 because I needed to build stuff. Real stuff!
Given that in my youth I had worked as a factory electronics assembler
in avionics and later found work building audio and video synthesizers,
I had all the requisite skills. I still had my tools, too. I have
soldered every joint in my synth over the past four years without
needing to change the soldering iron tip on my GC Supertemp, an obsolete
temperature-controlled soldering station. It is over 25 years old and I
used it again today.
Happy building, and congrats on getting in on the last round of MOTM kits.
