Sometimes I get accused of doing simple patches with minimal modules.
I guess guilty as charged but it's because I enjoy trying to wring
the most out of each module. Sometimes you can find cool stuff, and
sometimes you just make yet another white noise source :)
But a module like the 120 definitely has depth, and with the mods as
described on Richard Brewster's site it's even cooler. The 700 is
another module that falls into this category.
Maybe we should have a call for some cool patches with minimal modules
(no fair to use a ZO). With sound samples! I could host entries on
my .Mac site (no streaming, though, just download).
On an unrelated note, there have been calls for Paul not to
discontinue this or that module. I think he's doing it not because
the modules are not cool, they just do not support his business any
more. I suppose this is easy for me to say since I have at least one
of everything Paul has sold (except a 100), but count me on the side
of moving on. I can't wait to see the kinds of things we will get
with the Audio Engine...

i had considered the 120 a one-trick pony but with techniques like
this it can be persuaded to do some seriously weird glorpy stuff.
one variation is - output from the 120 going into fm2 on the 300 set
at about 1, and keyboard voltage going into the 1v/oct. means you can
play melodies and have the craziness take them away. drive the 320
off a clock division and it's even in time! [fx: cackle]
Drew asked about the 120 - I say it is essential MOTM! Not only does
it make a great audio sub-oscillator (down to 4 octaves!) you can
divide LFO-type stuff too. But the crux of the bisquit (God rest
Frank's soul) is cross mod.
