I send a track out the back of my digi and into the DI of one of my outboard preamps all of
which have balanced and unbalanced outputs. Then use the unbalanced output into a 830
and mix with a waveform or something to compare to so you don't have to much gain, I
think my avalons have like 65db of gain and my api's have like 45db. I used to just try and
boost the hell out of the tracks internaly but that doesn't sound as good. Mixers are good
too but cheap ones can add a bit of extra noise for my taste. Also this kind of stuff is great
to do when your working with bands and they want some sort of effects in the mix, they
can tweak knobs and such.
Is the Biphase clone still going to be made? I have the the mutron phase II pedal that I
love, and every demo on the interenet I have heard on the Biphase makes want one but I
am just waiting to get the MOTM one.
