I second this.

I use my 2x 485 units to process my P5 and other synths all the time. Feed them an LFO to the FM--> sine on one side tri on the other and you get some really nice panning FX. A little goes a long way. Note: they aren't as quiet as the other filters but I don't mind it at all, esp if I am processing a soft-synth.
