I'd be happy to make the drawings available. The steel base is about 450$
in parts and labor (half that is the wrinkle finish). The aluminum
subframe and wood exterior bring the total to around 1500, which is ouchy.
I could make one with a steel box frame and rails (that would leave all
the backs of the modules visible) for a lot less. Anyway, there's a good
reason most modular cabinets are wood ;)

I built the original out of a 16 gauge .75x1.5" thin walled tubing, and it
flexed too much when plugging in cables. The final one used 1/8" 1x2" mild
steel, and it doesn't budge for anything.
is anyone interested in building there own or having one built?
